Kepala Badan Pengembangan dan Informasi Desa, Daerah yang tertinggal dan Transmigrasi Republik Indonesia, Suprapedi, menilai gagasan Gubernur Lampung terkait program Smart Village ini Luar biasa yang akan sangat berdampak pada pembangunan desa. Ia mengatakan, untuk membangun Indonesia mesti dimulai dari desa karena memiliki kontribusi sekitar 74% bagi Indonesia.
Demi mencapai keberhasilan Smart Village, Pemprov melaksanakan kerja sama dengan berbagai pihak, salah satunya memlalui program perhutanan sosial. Sebab, 42 desa di kabupaten Pesawaran merupakan desa penyangga Taman Hutan Raya ( Tahura ) yang dapat memanfaatkan hasil hutan diluar kayu, seperti kemiri, aren, durian dan sebagai bentuk kepedulian desa terhadap kelestarian hutan.
